FAQ
Weddings in the time of the Coronavirus.
(updated 8/24)
As of August 17, people 12 and older are required to show proof they have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine for indoor activities in NYC. This includes weddings and hotel banquet halls. You can read more about the Key to NYC here.
This last year and a half has been weird......like, REALLY weird. We've been SO excited to see all of our family and friends in one place, and it really sucks that not everyone will make it with these new rules. With that said, everyone's safety is the most important thing and we totally understand if you cannot make it. We don't want anyone to feel unsafe or like they are compromising their values just to attend our wedding. Get vaccinated if you wanna get vaccinated. Don't if you don't. We can get together to pop open a bottle of champagne some other time.
Where is the wedding ceremony/reception located?
Get comfy, ‘cause everything is happening at the TWA Hotel!
The ceremony will be in the Sunken Lounge (just walk straight up the stairs from the entrance) and cocktail hour will be held in the Ambassador Club (located on the second floor). The reception will be in the 1962 Ballroom just below (fun fact! this used to be the terminal’s baggage claim).
What time should I be there?
The ceremony will start promptly at 6:30pm, so please plan to arrive closer to 6pm (and let's not forget about that JFK traffic).
What should I wear?
Stepping into the TWA Hotel will make you feel like you've been sent back to the 1960's -- we're trying to bring this vibe into our big day. We suggest aiming for cocktail attire, but feel free to join us in rewatching Mad Men for inspiration.
Can I park my car?
There will be valet parking by the TWA Hotel at $20 for up to 5 hours or $48 for overnight parking. Between rush hour traffic, parking cost, and the open bar, we strongly recommend using rideshare services (Lyft, Uber, etc) or public transportation to get to the TWA Hotel.
Can I bring a date?
If you have a "guest" on your invite, then yes! If not, reach out to us and we'll see what we can do.
Are kids allowed?
Of course! Just be sure to let us know when you RSVP.
Will there be food and drinks?
Oh. Yes.
Will there be vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free options?
We'll make sure to have vegan and gluten-free options available, but let us know of any other dietary concerns.
Will there be dancing?
We are bringing the best DJ "on board" (yep, i did it) for this party, so be sure to wear your dancing shoes!
Can I take photos?
Of course! But please be mindful of the very talented photographers we've invited to capture our wedding. Please tag your photos with #clearae on social media, so we can keep track!
You'll also find a free(!) classic photo booth in the lobby of the hotel just across from the Twister room.
Where can I stay?
We have a block of rooms for $225/night +tax. Let us know if you'll need a room!
Will the hotel pool be open in October?
Heck yes! The rooftop pool is heated to 90+ degrees during the winter, so be sure to bring your bathing suit if you're spending the night.
There's also a roller rink out on the tarmac if you're into that sort of thing :P
I have a question I don't see here, who should I get in touch with?
Feel free to get in touch with either of us or send us an email at colleenandalex@clearae2020.com
